I remember at the end of 2019 looking forward to 2020. It was going to be the greatest year for weddings - so many couples excited for their big day - so many memories to be made. But 2020 had something else in mind, giving us uncertainty, fear, frustration, and sadness. None of us has gone through these past 12 months unscathed. It has been a year like no other.
For the couples who DID have their weddings this year, I want to say thank you. Whether I officiated or coordinated, your special day gave me joy. I didn't realize how much I needed those moments. The first ceremony I performed after lockdown brought tears to my eyes as the couple read their vows to each other. For me, this was a sign of hope. Each wedding after that played a part in healing my heart.
For my 2021 couples, whether you have rescheduled or are new clients, please know that you are not alone - I am here for you. We will get through this together.
The holidays can seem especially draining this year with all that is going on. I wish you moments of peace and joy amid the difficulties. Moving forward, let's think about the great possibilites ahead. You've got this.
